Igrajo lokalno, delujejo globalno.

MASTERCLASS
Encounter with the casting process of the film The Worst Person in the World
by Casting Director Yngvill Kolset Haga

Yngvill will unveil the secrets of casting The Worst Person in the World, that was awarded with best actress in Cannes 2021, and also was nominated for two Oscars this year.
She will talk about her collaboration with director Joachim Trier, and give you her thoughts on acting for a casting.

Yngvill Kolset Haga
Growing up in a theatre family, becoming an actress was the goal. But more or less by coincidence, she managed to enter The Norwegian Film School’s producer course.
Her passion for acting and actors, analysing characters, and making scenes come alive for the first time in the casting room, is what makes casting the career alley for Haga.
In recent years, she has worked with several of Norway’s best directors and, among other things, has cast The Worst Person in the World (dir. Joachim Trier), Sonja (dir. Anne Sewitsky), the tv drama State of Happiness (dir. Petter Næss), and the newly premiered Made in Oslo (dir. Marit Moum Aune). Yngvill has also been teaching acting for casting/selftapes, and she is a member of ICDN.

WORKSHOP
The Actress has Time / The Actor has Time

by actors Jelena Graovac Lučev & Leon Lučev

There are spaces within us that we often forget about or don’t pay much attention to. Because of the lack of time, those spaces and parts remain lonely and unexplored. And often, those exact spaces and parts of us are the keys to our creativity and freedom. This is what this workshop is dedicated to: those parts of the artist that are not drawers or expected paths. They often beg to be articulated through art to be allowed to find their way out.
For exploration like this, we need time, trust, and support – everything else we already have.

Jelena Graovac Lučev was born in Vojvodina but she grew up in Rijeka. She finished Art History and Croatian Language and Literature in Zagreb (Faculty of Philosophy), Acting studies in Rijeka (Acting, Media, Culture, Faculty of Aplied Arts) and Belgrade (Master studies in Acting, Faculty of Dramatic Arts).

In 2018 she was awarded Best Actress on Sterijino Pozorje, for her role in the play Jami Distrikt, directed by Kokan Mladenović. For the same role, she was awarded Best actress on the theatre festival in Sarajevo. On screen she lately collaborated with directors Timur Makarević, Bojan Vuletić, Leon Lučev and Milica  Lee Filipovski. She sings and writes in the band Ova stvarnost/ Disreality.

In 2020 with Leon Lučev she founded a travelling Acting lab Glumac ima Vremena (Actor Has Time).

WORKSHOP
Pushing the Boundaries by Film Director Teona Strugar Mitevska

Is intimacy, the way we relate, time-bound, married to a certain age, is it influenced by social and cultural codes, or is it a representation of our own expectations connected by societal norms; and if yes, what happens when we turn the rules upside down and what is expected is no longer the norm?!
Teona is working on her first English speaking film Mother, a love story of a priest and a nun in 1940s Calcutta, by workshopping two scenes from her script, scenes that deal with passion in several different ways: hidden passion, retained passion, forbidden intimacy and, what interests her most: the nostalgic presentation of passion. You will be working precisely on this: pushing the boundaries of expected intimacy!

Macedonian-born Teona Strugar Mitevska started as a child actor, trained as a painter and graphic designer, and studied film at NYU – Tisch School of Arts. She directed her first short, Veta, in 2001 and has been making films ever since. Her most recent film, God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya, premiered in competition at the 2019 Berlin Film Festival, where it was awarded the Ecumenical Prize and the German Guild Film Prize. Until today, the film has received more than 30 awards internationally, most notably the 2019 LUX Prize by the European Parliament and was sold for theatrical release to over 40 territories worldwide.
Teona is currently in post-production on her new film, The Happiest Man the World and in pre-production on Mother.
In 2018, France’s Ministry of Culture awarded her the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Letters.
Teona Strugar Mitevska lives between Skopje and Brussels with her son Kaeliok.

DAVID ZITZLSPERGE

16:30 – 18:30
LOCATION: Stolp Škrlovec
OPEN: for all festival guests
The Round table will be followed by the presentation of the Castupload platform by Dr. David Zitzlsperger founder and CEO of Denkungsart
– Castupload (www.castupload.com) and filmmakers (www.filmmakers.de) are web-applications for actors, agents, and casting directors. Together they represent the oldest and largest pool of professional actors in the EU. Today most of the relevant EU based roles are cast directly or indirectly through either fimmakers or CAstupload systems. Started in 2018 mainly in German speaking EU (Germany Austria and Switzerland) the systems are today used by Casting Directors throughout the EU for productions ranging from small local student-films all the way to Hollywood blockbusters. Castupload is currently the only EU based system vetted for the use by AMAZON Studios. Recently ARDA (the French Casting Directors Association) announced to officially work with Castupload. As Castupload is free for professional actors and agents and granting visibility by relevant Casting Directors and production companies in the EU it is the fastest growing system of its kind. The German company behind the web-applications is Denkungsart. Denkungsart wants to partner with the associations of actors, agents, casting directors and producers in all EU countries and offers a complimentary service to local film-commissions/offices, that allow to integrate directly into the established European network of filmmakers working with the systems on their film, TV, Theatre, and advertising projects.

Dr. David Zitzlsperger: Davids has been working in various fields. With a background in finance and engineering he taught marketing and econometrics at universities in Canada and Germany and build a consulting business. Since 2013 Davids focus is digitalisation of production processes of large networks, studios, and production companies. The trouble of some of his media-clients to access and plan cast, crew, location, and props for individual productions visualized the possibilities in that field and initiated the approach to supply digital services not only to companies but also to Crew and Cast. Today David – together with two partners – is founder and CEO of Denkungsart, a German based company supplying SAAS solutions.
