Kranj acting film festival (KRAFFT) brings to the region an international event, dedicated to connecting and nurturing the art and craft of acting, raising awareness about the various aspects of acting and other activities connected to it.
With the swift development of technologies that offer the consumption of AV works whenever and wherever, creators need to follow swifty too—especially actors who tend to be the last to join the creative process in cinematic art, but are very much at the forefront when films are screened.
The new formats of AV work are making way for new approaches to acting as well. Film and AV work has always strived toward creating the very perfect illusion. Now, the sky’s the limit. Conjuring a completely different reality of a film scene, virtual scenography, animated scenes and computer-touched footage require additional preparation and skill from an actor.
At the festival, Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia will be addressing various questions regarding the AV art. The questions will concern every aspect of AV production since all sectors of film industry are tightly connected, interdependent and only form the whole when they are brought together.
Actors are the literal face of film and the immediate connection to the audience. We shall pay special attention to that connection at the festival. There shall be a variety of talks with actors after screenings. There will be expert panels and workshops open to the general public as well. We also expect the festival’s guest of honour to honour us with their masterclass.
The festival will also present awards in several categories. Golden Apples will be presented in the official international competition program of the festival. Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia will also specifically honour the achievements of Slovene actors in AV works with our Guild’s awards and certificates.
Festival is first and foremost a fest, a celebration; a space for reflecting upon work accomplished, for sharing expertise and opinion; an incubator for new ideas and an opportunity for socializing and bonding. KRAFFT will be just that: an attractive fest of expertise, demanding, but communicative. It shall encompass all formats of AV production and make sure that everybody can find something for themselves in KRAFFT’s various programmes!
