SCREEN ACTORS GUILD OF SLOVENIA (DSI) AWARDS
At KRAFFT, Screen Actors Guild of Slovenia presents Guild awards as well as LOK awards by the Dance Workers Section of the Guild. The Guild awards and recognition awards will be presented for the first time this year.
The Guild awards are the following: the Ita Rina life achievement award, the Close-Up award for best acting (for the last two years), the Cartoon Voice award for best audiovisual dubbing (for the last two years) and the Reverse Shot awardfor honorary film workers who have contributed to actors’ excellency in audiovisual productions with their work.
Ita Rina life achievement award is named after the first and biggest Slovene film star. Ita Rina, born as Ida Kravanja in 1907 in Divača, became part of the global movie celebrity constellation after she had starred in Gustav Machatý’s Erotikon in 1929.
With its awards directed at film, television and other audiovisual work, Screen Actors Guild hopes to contribute to growth and development of its members and to both domestic and international recognition of their audiovisual work.
The Dance Workers Section gives out a biennial honorary LOK award for an outstanding dance opus of distinguished poetics and dance mastery, the LOK award for an outstanding dance creation and the LOK recognition award for an innovative and perspective dance creation in the audiovisual sphere.
LOK dance awards are named after the dance suite Lok (Eng. Bow), the iconic duet of the choreographers Pia and Pino Mlakar.
With LOK awards, the Dance Workers Section seeks to achieve better recognition of the Slovene dance film, and to encourage young dance creators to pursue and develop the genre, building upon the outstanding creations of Slovene dance art in audiovisual works.
